There are third world countries that do not have the electronic medical records in their hospitals. These countries can barely afford the program given that it is quite expensive to set up. Big government referral hospitals still use the paper-based system and some do not even own a simple computer. These big referral hospitals tend to get extremely busy with patients streaming in every minute with different problems. Confusion is the order of the day in such hospitals as physicians write on papers, which await filling in the patient’s files by the file/record keeper. Patients are required to remember their referral numbers off head else, they may not get medication and the proper health care that they require. If these hospitals can get the EMR solution, their performance would be excellent. Patients would get the proper health care that they deserve and practitioners would benefit a lot from the program.
